BIOFEEDBACK
WHAT IS BIOFEEDBACK?
With biofeedback we visualize your body’s reaction to stress. We are all subjected to a variety of stressors in our daily lives, which can vary in intensity.
With biofeedback we can measure with sensors your state of stress, which is unconsciously reflected in muscle tension, the way you breathe, heart rate, hand temperature and the degree of perspiration.
With biofeedback therapy we make you aware of your body reaction and you learn to control it, which will result in an improvement in sleep, attention, and the perception of stress and/or pain among them.
GOALS
- MINDFULNESS: Increase awareness of stress as it increases before it becomes a crisis
- EMPOWERMENT: Increase control over stress reactivity
- GENERALIZATION: Learn methods to use this strategically and in cognito without a coach
The philosophy of Mindfulness is based mainly on living in the present, on being attentive to what is happening without judging or interpreting. In other words, it is based on accepting reality as it is. In fact, it is sometimes considered a technique for other therapies such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
The goals of biofeedback and mindfulness overlap. Both aim to make you more aware of your body, your mind and how they interact.
