BIOOFEEDBACK AND NEUROFEEDBACK ATHLETES
Biofeedback and neurofeedback are techniques used in sports to improve the performance and skill of athletes. These techniques are based on the idea that by providing athletes with real-time information about certain physiological parameters or brain activity, they can learn to control and improve their performance.
Sports Therapy
Biofeedback involves the use of devices that monitor different physiological functions of the body, such as heart rate, breathing, muscle activity or skin conductivity. Athletes receive real-time visual or auditory feedback on these parameters, allowing them to become aware of their physical condition and learn to regulate it to optimize their sports performance.
On the other hand, neurofeedback focuses on brain activity. It uses specialized equipment to record the electrical activity of the brain (electroencephalography, EEG) and provides athletes with information about their brain patterns in real time. Through training and practice, athletes can learn to consciously modify their brain activity to achieve mental states associated with better sports performance, such as concentration, relaxation or alertness response.
