Biofeedback and Neurofeedback
In-person therapies that connect what we think with our physiological reactions through the use of neurofeedback and/or biofeedback are therapeutic approaches that seek to improve awareness and control of the mind over the body. These therapies are based on the idea that our thoughts, emotions, and mental states can directly influence our physical and physiological responses, and vice versa.
The goal of these therapies is to teach people to recognize and control their body’s automatic responses to thoughts and emotions, thus promoting emotional and physical well-being. The connection between what we think and how our body reacts can be explored and modified to improve mental health, reduce stress, manage pain and optimize performance in various areas of life, including sports.
